REMAINING STRUCTURAL AND PIPING WORKS UNDER UA-6 PIPELINE REHABILITATION
SCOPE OF WORK
To complete the installation of all remaining structural and piping works for the 48″/46″ pipeline from km 90 (Mubarraz area) to the Abqaiq Plant intended for final mechanical completion phase.
This specific segment involves transitioning from cross-country pipeline construction to the high-density infrastructure of a major processing facility. Below is a structured breakdown of the remaining critical activities required for completion.
1. Piping Works: Final Tie-ins and Fabrication
Tie-in Welds (Golden Weld Joints): Completion of final welds connecting the 48″/46″ line segments in KM 62 and KM 14. These requires 100% NDT (Radiography/Phased Array) and other related activities.
Station Piping: Installation of kicker lines, bypass lines, and vent/drain piping for the Scraper Receiver (Pig Trap) area, Jib Crane and lateral line from Hot Tap Tie-in connection, Spools for 10 Jump-over Area and 3 Valve Station Area.
Valve Installation: Mounting and torquing of large-diameter Motor Operated Valves (MOVs), Gas Operated Valves (GOV) and Check Valves.
Hydrostatic Testing: Sectional testing for the spools of 10 Jump-over Area and 3 Valve Station across the whole pipeline.
2. Structural Works: Supports and Access
Pipe Supports & Sleepers: Installation of sliding and fixed supports, particularly at the “km 90” transition and Abqaiq plant entry point to handle thermal expansion.
Platforms & Walkways: Erection of steel structural platforms around the scraper traps and main isolation valves to allow operator access.
Pipe Racks: Completion of the structural steel supports and “T-posts.”
